ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    quick a1-a6 swap question

So we just dropped an a6 in my brothers 92 lx and I figured before we cheat the secondary butterflies I should ask the pro's first... If we connect the a6 engine harness to the original lx chassis harness and run a pt6 ecu... Do we still need to run the extra wires to control the black box or is it already in the original chassis harness?

It's not there. You need to add a pin to pin #17 and wire it to the black box connector.

        My rules:
If you're not paying, you're helping.
If you're not helping, you're paying.

If he's doing neither I don't even know why you're doing what you have. He's going to have a problem down the road and he's going to blame you.

take it apart for him, then leave him high and dry lol.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Do it right the first time for yourself if anything. You must be swapping for a reason, might as well do it right - it isn't much work to wire that up!.

You can do as mentioned and wire it up to A17, or you can also leave the blackbox out of the picture and run the butterflies off of vacuum only.

We're doin the swap because we got a great price on a parts car and he burnt a hole in 2 of his a1 exhaust valves and his valve guides were shot. I normally would do this the proper way but when someone rushes to get something done and doesn't even help or offer to pay cuz they r too fucked up on pain killers then I have no problem half ass'n the project. The car will run but I'm not going through the extra hassle of running a single extra wire when I can cheat it with a piece of vacuum hose... Especially if my work isn't gonna be appreciated.

If they are that messed up on pain killers, that they can't help run 1 wire for their own dam car, I hope they're not getting behind the wheel.

Otherwise if they are not going to appreciate the hard work / help, don't give/offer your assistance again.

Have they at least been helping get you tools, or even holding a light, anything at all?
