ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Rust Colored Splatter Inside Bay..

This might be a dumb question, but has anyone seen this before? It could be nothing, but im pretty certain it isnt dirt or mud, just because of where its at and the fact it didnt come off easily. Any comments would be helpful.

    Could be coffee ??

Hopefully, it's not a mixture of engine oil and antifreeze because that would mean a blown head gasket. Looks like it could have shot out from the water pipe you disconnected from the throttle body.

    Taste it..

I like the way this guy thinks... but I have the same problem and I think it might just be mud off the road kinda splashing up. That was my best guess

Heater core hoses run near there. Sometimes those hoses just burst if not replaced at a proper time which could cause something like that to happen. As for the color of the splatter, if whoever had the car at the time just ran water instead without coolant, then it would look like that. Either that or a blown head gasket like previously stated. I would check my coolant an make sure it's not a blown head gasket just for peace of mind.

ive seen that before, and its not mud. its burnt coolant, probably from the heater hose, but like everybody said, check the HG

thanks for the comments, ill take another look down there to see if anything looks out of place. i have used some prestone stop leak a while ago for a radiator leak, which it seemed to help. my coolant looks to be a normal color and my radiator and reservoir and staying full. the car seems to be running normal without overheating (other then my bad idle i cant seem to fix)

Looks like rust from inside the engine... If you put water in your cooling system for long periods of time this happens..Maybe from the previous owner if it wasn't you

If its not coolant, look at your rear motor mount. Its hydrolic fluid. I can almost guarantee that.

And seal up that wire....extra resistance on that circuit can cause issues.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

that was my original thought.. i have noticed extra vibration at idle and while shifting (automatic). i have recently replaced my torque mount in the front since the rubber was shot and was thinking it was about time for a new hydrolic rear mount. is there a way to test for a bad mount besides reving it in gear? or would it be obvious if it were failing? i have been through hell trying to get my car to idle perfect (mysterious vac. leak or something) but am starting to think my mount may be more of the problem..

When my old CB blew a headgasket and THAT happened. then my radiator threw up all this water and crap. It was bad lol. Then my car was stolen shortly after.

The problem also turned out (in my case) a bad radiator hose coupled with that blown head gasket

Shine a light from the passenger side of the engine bay and look at the mount in the middle to see if there are any tears or abnormal amount of crap in there. It should look dry and not wet.
