ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I wont dwell into using the weld method because frankly its more expensive and not adequate enough of reason to justify having the trouble to weld. The second solution of redrilling the bolt hole higher is much more rational. There will be a dimple already indented into the tranny bracket immediately to the left and up from the hole used by the auto tranny bracket. At this time plug up the tube to the right in the picture with a rubber cap of some sort. It’s just an air hole. Before you start drilling, you will need to jack up the tranny or lower it depending until you find that the engine is fairly level. Once this is good, check the pulleys side to allow adequate clearance.

To drill this you need a 12mm bit that is preferably 5.5 to 6” long so that you can jack up the engine and drill straight through the tranny mount. Of course you will start with much smaller bits and work your way up to the 12mm. On the other side (firewall side) of the tranny bracket the nut for the tranny bolt is still tack welded in two spots onto the bracket. Take an appropriate socket and breaker bar and it’ll pretty easily break off. Depending on if it broke off cleanly or not, you will need to purchase another nut, preferably locknut. Once this is completed, go ahead and bolt it up and torque down the nut.
sorry but this is not applicable for CB7s!!! only 94-97... do not listen to any of this post ^

How many clutch lines are there and where do they run?
      - see parts lists. there are two A2M guides linked that thread, i can personally verify the completeness of the list in the "Original" thread: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...=&threadid=588 but the ones listed in the "reference" are more descriptive: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=156847

How can i get the Trans out of the car without taking the motor out?
      - unbolt everything and pull it off the engine. itll fall to the floor (set it down carefully) and take it out thru under the passenger wheel well.

Which things need to be welded??
      - nothing, if you buy the special Auto-to-Manual conversion motor mount from ExplicitSpeedPerformance. what year and trim is the source car? see http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...967#post731745

What is everything i need to pull from this car?
      - see parts lists.

Can my auto PT6 work with a MT? Also, do i have to get a different TCU?
      - yep. and why would you need any electronic Transmission Control Unit for a manual?

To remove the transmission, you have to lower the engine by a couple inches. This can be done by loosening (but not removing) the driver's side engine mount. Otherwise, the transmission will not clear the frame.

C'mon Mike, you're slipping. You taught me that one!

If you don't want to buy the ESP mount (which is by far the best option), then you'll want to remove the bracket that holds the transmission mount, and have it welded onto your car in place of your auto bracket.

To remove the auto trans mount you will need a spot weld remover drill bit.

Lesile makes it..although I can't think of the part number at the moment.

ESP mount is definitely another option but their turn around time is about 2 to 3 weeks.
