ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Injector upgrade question

I have a 92 cb7 with a f22a1. The question I have is, what size injectors can I just drop in, without the need for ecu mod, if there are any. I have a full cold air intake, megan racing headers, and custom 2.25 exhaust. Other than that the engine is stock. If there is mods needed for an upgrade, what are they, can I do it without opening up the ecu.

Why do you want new injectors?

larger injectors will do absolutely nothing for you. in order to properly run larger injectors (when they are necessary) you would need to tune the ecu accordingly

Not true. He could easily cause damage with them.

true. they provide no benefit without enough modification to justify them. more fuel does not equal more power.

well I'm looking at what other cheaper upgrades to do after i get a new cam. I've done a full intake and exhaust system. I was just looking at the fuel system next, rail and regulator, so asking about injectors.

And everyone is telling you that you don't need them. If you go turbo, supercharged, big nitrous, or high compression/RPM N/A... then you'll want larger injectors. If you're just slapping a cam in there and leaving the rest of the motor relatively stock, your current injectors will provide you with plenty of fuel.

Thats what I figured, just asking for second opinion. Any opinions on fuel management piggyback controllers? I plan on installing a hotter cam, ideas other than a Bisi would be appreciated. As well as the cam I want to do an H23 intake mani swap, possibly an F22B head. I know my stock ignition is fine for what I plan to do, what about the fuel pump? Will a 255 Walboro be necessary for the mods I have planned?

You do not need a FMU. You stock fuel pump will be sufficient. I would suggest looking around the board at different cams people have such as Bisi, Delta and I think there are a few others.

I feel like you are asking to be spoon fed. You would do yourself some good to do some reading on others setups.

Just because it's the "beginner" section doesn't mean that we don't expect you to do at least a little thinking for yourself. We're happy to help those that are willing to help themselves. We do not spoon feed around here. From the sounds of it, you have absolutely NO idea what it is that you want to do with your engine, and you're looking to throw random "upgrades" at it without any plan or goals in mind.

Do some research. Figure out what you want, come up with an idea of how you're going to get there. Then, when you need help understanding something... ask. Then, we will be more than happy to help. But when you go from asking about injectors to a headswap, fuel pump, fuel management, intake manifold... yeah, I just put more thought into this reply here than you have into your entire engine build so far.

I'm pretty sure I never asked a thing about a head swap I said that was my plan. And as far as being spoon fed wow, I was asking for opinions to my intentions. Not hey can you tell me the stuff to do to my car and how to do it. People that think they are above everyone else because they they know, or think they know all the answers, are a@# holes in my book. The only thing I asked that I didn't know about were the injectors and if I need a fuel pump upgrade. Go back and read the posts before you dump nonsense comments on the forum. Damn all I wanted were a couple of peoples personal opinions, and instead I got trolled upon.

Look, I'm not trying to be a jerk, I came here to ask a couple of questions. I then I get told I'm being spoon fed, well I'm not, I do my own work on my car and I do read. I just don't see why people feel the need to jump on someone who's asking for some knowledge. i feel me question was perfectly legitimate, and deserved no smart comment. I got my answer and a bunch of nonsense to go with it, but I got the help I was after, for that thank you. And if you think you did more research than me, your wrong, I know what I'm looking to do, it just nice to have other opinions and get peoples errors they have made with along such swaps/mods. Sheesh...

Piggyback controllers. Cam suggestions other than Bisi (so you've clearly done tons of research here!), possibly a headswap (which then eliminates whatever cam information we tell you), fuel pump (when you've already been told that you do not need more fuel until you do considerably more modifications.)

So where is the research you've done yourself? Where are you NOT asking to be spoon fed? Your initial question was answered in the first few posts of this thread. Long before I even entered it. So why does it continue? You just came to ask a question... you got your answer.

Now you're calling the very people that answered your questions (as we ALL answered your questions) assholes... Yes, you can say asshole on here... I don't know what you consider to be good manners, but that certainly isn't my definition of such.

Bottom line... you asked for help. You got it. Then you decided to throw everything at us because we could probably answer all your questions, thus eliminating the need for you to bother thinking at all! Then when you get called on it, you throw a little bitch fit.
