ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Mildy urgent idle question

    Back story is here.

    Urgent parts:
I parked at the gas station and my idle went up to 3k. I turned it off and felt some sputters. Filled up. Turned it back on, went back up to 3k, and wouldn't let me shift out of park.
Turned it off, used emergency key slot to put it in neutral, turned on, into gear and drove away.
But, most of the way home, my idle was 1500 - 2500. The only thing stopping me at traffic lights was HEAVY braking. I mean to the point where I could hear my brakes groaning while I was sitting there.

Strangely enough, when I got off the highway, the super high idle was gone.
When I parked, I filmed the idle bounce you saw in the back story, but no super high idle.

I'm cooling the engine down and about to change the FITV.
Suggestions? This is dangerous and I want to get it fixed before my 300 mile trip tomorrow.

I had high idle problems and found by adjusting the TPS on the throttle body would lower the idle to 1.2k To this day I still get a 2.0k-2.3k idle. Dunno why.

Ok, I replaced the FITV, no more bouncing idle under normal conditions.
Now, I have to start it like above, because it idles so high. I have to stomp on the brakes and hold them to remain stopped.
If I unplug the IACV, my idle drops to ~1500, but jumps up and down maybe 100.

      Any suggestions?

The urgency is mostly gone. The problem still exists though. For all other posts use the back story link at the top of the page.
