Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    No muffler

    Ok so my muffler is basically done for. It's full of holes and is just sitting on the pipe. I'm getting tired of looking at it like that so my question is what's the pros and cons of just having no muffler until I get another one?

      Pros: 2 mpg better
      Cons: Cops follow you

      37.5 MPG, AC on, cruising at 80.
      30.0 MPG, AC on, aggressively driving around 90.
      27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit

            Mine broke on the way home. By the time I got there (2.5 miles) I had a cop following me. Even took a shortcut, parked, turned off his lights, and waited.

              only time i've ever been pulled over was when my muffler rusted off.

                My bro drove his CB for a year with the down pipe disconnected ( didn't know ) and the exhaust rusted out and never got pulled over lol

                  Will most cops fine you for not having a muffler? And if it makes a difference in where I live I'm in North Carolina.

                    I could've gotten a ticket. I was in New Hampshire.

                    My exhaust rotted off while I was in NC too, I drove the 40 miles back to school then parked it. Didn't get pulled over.

                      You can get a new muffler with the hangers that fits in our Accord at autopart store such as Autozone, napa for like $49 buck.... cut the rusty one off and clamp the new one in. Should be just a 5-10 minutes swap.

                        Ok cool that's not to bad. And I want even have to cut my muffler off because it will just slide right off.
                        Will a prelude muffler fit our cars because I might be able to get one of those from a friend of mine.

                          I dont know if the one from a prelude will fit or not... wont hurt to try since you got it free.

                              I've been debating doing the exact same thing, the outer shell of my muffler is

                              totally rusted out. The bottom of it sorta hangs down to the side, but its still

                              quiet. It just sucks having that part scrape on stuff. lol
