ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    * Lowers ignition system voltage requirements
    * Greater ignitability and performance over conventional spark plugs
    * “Trivalent Metal Plating” has superior anti-corrosion and anti-seizing properties
    * Increased fuel economy and lower emissions
    * Highly durable against electrical and chemical wear

I just put V power in mine. Better mpgs and higher revs.
      Is V power Iridium?
      MRT
37.5 MPG, AC on, cruising at 80.
30.0 MPG, AC on, aggressively driving around 90.
27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit

As long as you have quality spark plugs that perform to the level that the engine requires, there's no benefit to "upgrading" to anything fancy.

I do agree, though... the V-Power plugs have always worked well for me.

if your engine performs worse just by changing to v-power, spark plugs should be the least of your worries

The ECU isn't going to know what spark plug you're running, and as long as your engine is working properly, the plugs recommended by the factory will work efficiently enough to burn the air/fuel mixture completely. The only way the ECU would know you had different plus would be if the stock ignition system wasn't working properly, and the OEM-spec plugs couldn't ignite the mixture well enough (and as PR CB7 said... that's not a plug issue, that's something else that you should be looking at!)
The ECU would only see a difference if the burn was incomplete, via the o2 sensor readings. Only then would fuel delivery be altered.

Any spark plug that exceeds factory specifications for a stock or near-stock engine is useless... It's like running higher octane gas in your car when it doesn't need it!

My H22 takes "better" plugs than an F22 would. I believe it requires platinum plugs. It also requires premium fuel. Because that's what the engine was designed for, it is what I buy. However, if I was running an F22A, I wouldn't be wasting my money on that stuff.

Oh, I once used Bosch Platinum +4 plugs... because the fucktard at Autozone told me how good they were (this was before I learned to think for myself when it came to my car...) Those "fancy" plugs actually did have a negative effect on my car... it ran like crap, and they fouled quickly. I put in some basic NGK Platinum plugs, and the difference was noticeable.
