ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

EGR port caps can't be found?

Ok, after emailing to Honda dealer back and forth the results for the EGR port caps were that they nor the Japanese importer have that kind of part. I gave them part# and specific english name for the caps and still nothing. They said that it's probably some kind of Honda USA part. So i'm curious now what should I do with the EGR port caps, cause I would like to clean those but don't have caps. I read that very informative .pdf file about cleaning those and basicly I could reuse the old ones if I don't drill them through. So what are my options now? Is there somekind of other method to seal these babies again or should I just leave them alone? And also, am I totally wrong that there is EGR port caps on Accord -92 model?

There was someone on here who drilled out the old caps, tapped the hole and then screwed in new ones. When he wanted to clean them again, he only had to unscrew them.

I know these are a Toyota products but these are what i was talking about, well the third pictured item on this web page.

If you are going to drip and tap the EGR ports you should remove the intake manifold from the engine. Wouldn't want to get any shavings down inside the intake port/cylinder.

There was a thread just last week asking about threaded screws that could be used for replacement caps. IIRC it was 1/2" set screws, thread and pitch of your choosing.

Here is a link to the thread; http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=174883

Yeah, that would be the best choice! But i've thought that I would try to get the metal shavings with a magnet while drilling.

illestatus: Did you use somekind of sealent on them?

You might be able to drill it to open it and then pop it back. Then Put a small dab of jb weld in the hole then paint the surface an alloy silver or aluminum high temp paint. I personally don't like the one I got from Honda. It was concave instead of flush.

If you are skilled in metal working you can take out each egr port and then put it in a vice. Drill out the hole enough to tap it to a desired thread size, then find an apporpriate fitting. Then pop her back in. Its not the best option but its a start

Other item is so small would someone from the states be able to send you a few caps?
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Damn, I only checked my old intakemani and it had caps on it but my new intakemanifold has those welded EGR port caps. Is it just that I drill a hole on them, clean them and just put a bolt in it with some sealent? Should've checked before starting anything. i tested on my old manif. and caps came off pretty good but not sure about those welded ones.
