ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    IAB plates operating right?

I got my f22a3 IM swap done! So thanks to everybody who have helped me this far. The swap was quite fun doing and everything went ok and got it right at the first try. My back is killing me right now. But i've got a question about the IAB plates. First of all we spent an hour thinking why the hell those open when I start the car...after a few beers we realized that they weren't open, they were closed. The question comes here, we tried to see the plates open at park when you just rev the engine, but nothing happend? Should those plates open when you are not moving but still picking up the right rpm? It is wired through the ECU and it seems to be working just fine when driving the car. Also it feels that its opening the butterfly valves at 4800rpm (not exact rpm), is there a difference between ECU's when they open those valves? Just wanted to ask cause my ECU is the PT4 and from automatic trans., so if the rpm for the valves is a bit higher than on the manual.

That sounds like the wrong computer. You probably need to get your hands on a Pt6, but then again I dont know how it is over there in Finland.

Actually, YOU can delete this thread.
But don't, because all threads are meant to be archived for search-able knowledge later.

Do the IABs function at idle? I know if they were running purely on vacuum they would, but with the ECU controls, I wasn't sure. I know VTEC won't work at idle.

Mike, did you mean "at idle" or 'in park'? I think I just caught you in a boo-boo.

Yeah, they work when car is not moving. (I meant by park that i'm not moving, got a manual trans) The problem was probably the diaphgrams spring that was maybe a little stiff after standing still for over 2 years. Not exactly sure why it wasn't working in the first place. (maybe i was too tired at the end of the project so i missed something) Valves work now properly when reving the engine and standing still. It is controlled by the ECU.
