ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I got 130 miles out of a full tank. Hows that for bad mileage?

I tweaked my timing (because it was too advanced) and now im at 140 miles at half tank.

Hopefully that helps you guys out a bit.

        Advance timing = more air
more air = ecu compensates by sending more fuel
        more fuel = bad mpg

its all based on what the 02 sensor detects in the exhaust and the ecu changes to compensate to correct it.

If it helps, i have an euro-r h22 with P0F ECU mated with the f22 auto tranny and f22 TCU

Colder air is more dense, but a cooler intake charge also can lower the adiabatic flame temperature...basically less thermal efficiency.

i wonder if this means my 02 sensor is was bad when i did my exhaust and now that my exhaust is fix and not leaking tht the o2 is messed up

I've been getting 28mpg average this whole winter season in my CB7. Something like 30% highway and the rest is city. My gas light always turns on at just about 400 miles. I'm surprised everyone else is getting low 20s.

              Maybe because I'm driving a 5-speed

f22 are notorious for burning oil. get a oil catch can. everytime i change my oil i get about 4-5 ounces in my oil catch that would have ended up in the intake mani, injectors, valves, chamber. and thats after 2,500

What? Mine burns so little it doesn't make a difference. I'm at 5k since I changed my oil. Haven't added a single drop, and I'm halfway between the lines.

What's an oil catch can? I just replaced my seals and the leaking stopped.

Everybody: Please post only ways for better mileage. There's a thread in off topic to post your mileage.

An oil catch can is a can inbetween the pcv valve and the intake manifold. it catches all the burnt oil fumes instead of directing them back to the cumbustion chaber to be burned off.

il take a pic of mine tomorrow

Doesn't the entire use of a catch can mean your PCV valve is not working?

PCV valve does not control oil. It has no way to know if the air moving through it contains oil. That's where a catch can, or (as the case with our cars) a set of internal baffles before the valve is employed to regulate the oil. On a boosted car the stock baffles can't always deal with the added volume moving through the system, thus a catch can is used to keep oil out of the intake. FWIW a catch can is most relevant for racing to keep fluids from making their way to the track surface.
