ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

try checking the fluid ,also maybe have the fluid changed. burnt fluid has a distinct smell. while changing add some lucas in there and run it for awhile.good luck and keep us posted.

Hard shifting is a sign of a strong transmission, and our transmissions are known for shifting fairly hard (it has been a source of criticism in the past.)

However, as the mounts wear out, that hard shift is definitely more pronounced. As the fluid gets old, the transmission may also not function as it should. Fluid should be changed every 15-30k miles, depending on how hard the car is driven. People usually keep up with the motor oil, but very few people realize that transmission maintenance is just as important!

Use Honda ATF only. Don't use anything else, even if it says it's good for your transmission.

          Very relieved to hear this.

I've heard from multiple people that if you let fluid that should be regularly changed sit for too long you're better off leaving it. If you change it you're essentially gambling that the component may fail. Case in point: I changed my original brake fluid and had to replace my master cylinder. Fortunately the only fluid I haven't changed yet is my PS fluid.

Change it, but don't flush it. A transmission flush will clear away all the gunk that's basically holding things together. But you should DEFINITELY change your fluid if it's old!

I would. Then do it again in a few months. I'm pretty sure the Haynes manual recommends it every 90k

thanx and i was reading thread about tcu do i need to worry bout that cuz when i drive normal 1st gear switches 2,500rpm but when it switches to 2nd it switches on 3000rpm any answers?

my car has this plastic smell or some kinda smell to it and it wont go away would that be the smell that my tranny fluid is bad?

should i flush my tranny or keep like that and jux change fluid cuz ive heard some cars dont run right after a flush my question is, is a flush good for 93 accord ex auto?

no dont flush it because you well remove the "gunk" thats holding things together and youll risk hurting the tranny so just change the fluid as deev said not flush it.

If it smells like a burnt up amp its likely the TCU has burnt up.Got any D4 blinking lights? Also argee with DEEV on changing the trans fluid but do not flush it.My trans shifts sorta hard but nothing else as i keep driving it it got better as i drive pretty calm now days but when hammered down shifts on point and normal hell its caught 2nd a time or too.Just do what weve said and let us know afterwards if its any better also dont forget to check out the TCU(Located under passenger side kick panel).

An automatic shifts when it wants. There aren't any set points. If you think it's acting up, you can bridge the diagnostic connector and check for codes.

Same thing as above, except you'll be looking at the D4 light.

Just change the fluid. I thought it was common knowledge that flushing was a bad idea. There are no manufacturers that recommend it.

Drive to the place to buy it the day of, so that way your fluid will be warm. Do you know where the drain bolt is?

Make sure you can open the fill hole before you drain the fluid. I've heard of at least one person on here that drained the fluid, and then wasn't able to refill it due to a seized fill bolt!
