ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

My friends Auto is acting up

Keep in mind this is my friends car so I'm describing it from memory. 92 Lx with auto trans and a remote start. From here on out Ill be describing it as if I were him. When I go to start my car sometimes it won't start, this takes place when using my key or my remote start. When I remote start it will try to start 3 times before giving up. When I start it with a key the D4 light will flash and nothing will happen. Also, I can move my shifter without depressing the brakes or putting the key in the socket. We did the Diagnosis by jumping the ecu connector, and got codes. We just couldn't figure out what they were. I'm hoping that the info here will be enough to go on. If not, we'll video tape the codes and put them up.

Maybe the alarm is not hooked up right I have mine set on RPMS now mine starts everytime the first time because before it was set on something else it would crank and remote pager would display it was running but it was not can't think of the name I think it was set on electrical about the flashing D hope this helps is some way. also Hope it helps

What does it mean if the D4 light on a Honda Accord stays lit no matter what gear you are in Hopefully This problem can be solved by replacing an AT Control Unit, which is located underneath the passenger side floorboard. There are two computers underneath the floorboard. It is the one on the right, the smaller unit. The numbers must match exactly. The numbers vary according to whether the car is an LX, DX or EX. Simply disconnect the battery, take out the two plugs that plug into the bottom of the computer, and replace the unit. The problem should be solved. The Control Unit can be purchased from a salvage yard for $50-100. We think that the numbers match on 90-93 and are therefore interchangeable.

The problem with many of the 92 93 transmission computers is related to failing electrical components inside the AT Control Unit. If this is the case with your Accord.

    Just my opinion

the tcu is not interchangable. 90-91 only work in them years. 92-93 only work in 92-93. good luck.

We thought it might be the TCU. But somewhere else on the web said it might be the (I think) Shift Control interlock; due to the fact he could move his shifter without the brakes. Do you know of any guides to adjust/fix his remote start? That's what I thought at first but his symptoms are close to the TCU issues and I want to be sure before we go to buy a new one.
