ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Removing thermostat housing, HELP!`

Like the title says, i need help removing the thermostat housing....

For sometime now I've been wondering why my car never reaches operating temperature and then yesterday i find a thermostat in my trunk... i test it and it works... so i got to work to put the thermostat back....

I remove the housing cover only to find no thermostat... i got to work in installing the thermostat... In the process of torquing one of the bolts for the thermostat cover the thermostat housing snapped!, I've removed all the bolts from it, but it appears to be attached to a metal pipe running under the intake manifold... I cant find any bolts under it... but it appears to be removable, there just isnt any bolts or anything.... Also, it appears that autozone doesnt carry the housing, just the housing 'cover' which they label water outlet.

can anyone enlighten me on how to remove this thing? haynes manual doesnt mention a thing on removing it

here's a link to the whole schematic... its #9 http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...ry5=WATER+PUMP

i answered my own question... but for anyone that needs to know... just pull on it and it should slip off the metal tube... i would assume it'd be a good idea to get a new o-ring we re-installing the housing

          Its time for you...

to hit up the junk-yard, my friend. That's where you'll find a housing.

yup the junkyard is your only hope, make sure you get a new O ring before reinstallation... not a spot that you want to have leaking.

I dont know why its rusted... thats probaby why it broke... None of the antifreeze looks orange or anything... maybe i'll do a flush just to make sure everything is good....

i'm hitting up the JY today.... maybe i'll find some other goodies (ie fog lights)
