ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    brake light system issues..90 LX

Here's my situation lol...keep in mind all bulbs and fuses are brand new as I've tried replacing them all..

Tail lights and blinkers light up just fine, but only my drivers side tail light brightens when I brake. My back window brake light does not work either. Is this the old wiring thats gone to hell or is there anything else I can check? A relay? A short somewhere?

    Thanks alot!

That sounds like a wiring problem. You might have a broken connection somewhere between the pass and thrid brake light and the main body harness.

Definitely check your connectors. They corrode very easily if a little water gets in them and the pins get a bunch of crap on them. Clean them all up and see if that helps

Wow! I have the exact same problem. Did you ever find a solution?

Has anyone tried replacing the little black or brown box on the outside tail lights? those cause issues as well

Any other solutions? My car is doing this too. Parking lights work fine, turn signals work fine, but none of the brake lights work. fuses are good, bulbs are good.

brake light signal goes to the little box in the driver side tail light first, and then goes to the other 2 lights.

your brown box is either bad, or you have a wiring short somewhere in the rear.

If none of them work, there's a good chance it's the switch at the brake pedal.

                        I have a similar problem.

My third brake light always stays lit. It will brighten when I push on the brakes like the other 2 do at night, but its always lit.

Also if I have the lights off and hit the brakes, my 2 front turns signals stay lit solid.

                        Very weird.

It's probably the main connector at the right outer lens. Mine was the same way when I got it. My answer was to cut off the factory plug and use male & female connects. Everything works now as it should!

These are very close to what I used. Insulated 1/4" connectors
Officially "hilarious mad sarcastic"! Thanks CB74christ for the recognition of my work.
