ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

wy would you not want to wash your engine while its running???? If your not using ice cold water its better for the degraser. It also maks less problems afterwards (ie the dizzy wont puddle up because it wil evaporate most of the water in it but NOT ALL!!!!

But unlike mot of you mine when it is washed is in a wash bay with the heater up to 80 and our shop uses a 100 pilot water heater so the water is hot enough to take anything off

OP, just pull your cap off and wipe it with a dry rag and it will fire right back up. I never coer anything when I wash mine and never had any probs other than the dizz. getting wet.
"you can catch me swoopin 4G coupin switchin lanes" haha haha.

i wash my engine bay while its still hot/warm, but NOT while its running, i cant imagine spraying it down while the ignition is turned ON =O

i spray without covering anything but im very careful. i also DONT try to start it immediately... ill push/roll the car out of the bay out into the sunlight in a parking space near the vacuums. while you finish "detailing" itll give the warm engine bay a chance to dry out.

i was thinking the same thing. that could create all kinds of potential for cracks in your headers

i like to wash my engine the same way i wash the outside

under the shade w everything cold, im surprised detailers dont do this,
why wash the engine hot or running

with the engine running u might loose ur concentration and spray water in the filter (aftermaket filter)

with the engine hot, water will evaporate fast creating suds, messin up ur bay, ur valve cover heatshield etc

also y spray everything with 75% industrial degreaser and 25% car soap, use compressed air to dry, rarely get water on the DIS

i was spraying the entire engine bay until my boy realized that he saw that mines wasn't shooting as far as his was (even though he had bought 2 of the same engine degrease)

"Yo, why isn't your spraying far like mines"

"fuck are you talking about?....."tire shine""

then i had realized i was spraying tire shine at the whole engine bay for like 3 minutes straight then switched to degrease LOL WOOPS!!!
Ha thanks for a good laugh That was funny! Just cause I can relate to doing things like that! Anyway, did you ever fix your problem? I would think to check the spark plugs to make sure you didn't get any water in there.

anyway. Does it at least look better than before the wash?

i use tire shine after i'm done cleaning the bay. spray on rag and wipe away on valve cover, hoses, dizzy cap, fuse box..etc

oh, and i use brake cleaner spray to hit all the hard to reach area's, like around ABS and behind head lights, then commence with the simple green and water spraying

so anyways i just bought a new air flow because of the water that might have gotten into my old 1...either way it was time for a change

Car turns on fine now but wen i step on the gas the car still seems to struggle(kinda wobbles or shakes the engine a little not too sure how to explain it) but then reves normally after 2000rpm

Should i let it sit there and probably dry off a little longer?
