ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I've gottin 32-34 on the Hwy going any where from 60-85mph on a trip to Wilmington(425 miles on one tank). Combined I'll get 24-26mpg depending on if i keep my foot out of it(360-375 miles on one tank).
I have 219,000 miles on the engine but it's still pretty fresh from the rebild at 180,000 miles.

Also here is something else you should know...

I've always heard Cb7's get better MPG at faster speeds, and I'm here to tell you, ITS TRUE to a certain degree.

I did a test, drove 55mph for 31 miles during the day, averaged 29.6 MPG.

Drove the same road again, and drove it at 62-63mph and got 32.4 MPG.

I don't understand it other then...on the auto transmission, I'm running 2400-2500rpm at 55, at 62, I'm STILL running 2,500 b/c the transmission kicks into "overdrive" and holds the rpm's down.

I don't get it, but it seems to be that cb7's really like 60-65mph.

My engine has around 150-160k and I average around 24-25. 27 is my highest.
Kinda makes me miss my d16y8 Civic. 34mpg.
Definitely makes me glad to be out of my Infiniti J30 VG30DE.....19-20 mpg average.

so can anyone describe a full tune up for me...like what mostlikely would be done when it is done?

when people are saying like 400 miles on a full tank does that mean like till the fuel light comes on?? or is it before that??

                    spark plugs
                    spark plug wires
                    air filter
                    fuel filter
                    injector cleaner/seafoam

those would pretty much be the main ones...you should see a pretty good increase in mileage once those items have been replaced

I took off the mudflaps, advanced timing, cleaned out egr ports, I do have an exhaust leak before the cat so that really helps me out with those numbers more than anything.

i just got 27 mpg on an F22A6 with 278k, of course this was doing 75-80 on the freeway the whole time. if i kept it at 65mph, i would have gotten a good 30-32.

Change the spark plug wires and plugs, all NGK. It will help as its routine maintence.
