ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Why is my trunk wet?

my whole trunk is wet, I'm trying to fix it before I put some sound deading material and I can't figure out why it's wet.

You have a seal leak. Check the rubbers on the trunk area.

BWAHAHHAHAHA Because you own a fourth gen accord! Welcome to the club!

try removing the weatherstripping, check the sheet metal lip it goes on for bends or kinks, check the seal itself for damage. If that doesn't help, get in the trunk with a flashlight and have a friend hose it down until you see the leak.

was probably in an accident, check your carfax report. rear quarter panel had to be fixed and or trunk lid was bent and was hammered stragiht. there is probably a gap down the left line, stick a towel or piece of paper and close ur trunk if u can see the paper or towel through the line then it is not flush and will leak.

There are gaskets behind the taillights, they're probably GONE. Replace them and see if it still leaks. Or go to the JY and take some. you can fold them up and put them in your pocket so they'd be free

                I vote on tail lights.

That is the bane of my leaking trunk. It always seems to be the outside tail light. I just take the thing off there, use a bunch of 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive(The Yellow stuff that looks like gorilla snot) and stick it back on. Use a lot so you don't have to worry. If you do it my way, lets hope you never have to take it back off for any reason, because it will be a mother to get off of there.

its usually the tail light gaskets.

second most commonly its the rust holes in the corners letting water in lmao.

either those, or the lower trim seal of the rear window.

sometimes the antenna, or the rubber seal around the trunk.

if you cant track down the source, drilling holes or removing the rubber plugs right where the water collects first usually lets it drain pretty quickly so it stays dry... but that may not work too well if you plan to put deadening over it...

Yep, the water goes into the sides of the trunk....run down the back...into the tail lights, then down into the trunk. I FINALLY found this out about a week ago. I've had this leak for months. Glad I found it. It kept ruining SUb boxes.

Mine leaks a little to, havent even bothered looking for the cause yet. Its a small leak, Im thinking taillight gasket. So that sould be the first thing to check since its easy.

mine leaked, turns out my trunk lid was bent and the right side wasn't sealing right. so me and a buddy twisted it back to where it should be and readjusted the the trunk latch so it would close a little tighter. i haven't had any water in it since, but then again it hasn't rained much lately...

I would check back behind the rear wheels as in inner fenders to see if there is a gap or anything missing causing the rain to invade the trunkl. Thats what happened on my EK.

I would try the tail light seals first and then look at the trunk seal along with the antenna seal. Other than that maybe look at the rear of the car in the trunk there should be 2 caps on the inside...for some reason mine were missing and thats where I was getting water in my trunk. They are circular caps...2 of them

i have the same problem .but i fixed it . its the metal strap that runs along the window check the bottom the frame retainers are cracked and its allowing it to seep water into the trunk.
