Hey what's up everyone. My name is Matt and I am from H-town or Houston,TX as it is sometimes known. Anyways I used to check this site out back a few years ago when I had another cb7 but then for a while had an infiniti which I got rid of 2 months ago (was a '92 Q45 just killed me on gas). Anyway long story short I purchased a 91 accord lx coupe automatic. Love it just like I loved my first cb7 but last night as I was making a turn onto a main ave. by my house there was a major pool of water in the turn and a person who came to a complete stop in the pool of water why I don't know. Anyway I had to change directions kind of quick and went through the puddle and as I came out my front right wheel lost all steering capability. I think it was still turning like when I was on the gas(traction) but just no steering. So I had to limp the car off the road and got it into a parking lot. The front left was still good. So I got into the entrance of this lot and got out of the car to find the front right wheel cocked out all the way to the right. So then I had to kick the tire a few times to get it back straight so I could then pull the car into a spot. This was in the dark and of course raining so I really didn't have a chance to take a good look underneath but from what I could see it was a hose or line that had come disconnected. Now that being said I will be the first to admit I am not a mechanic or gear head and don't know much when it comes to cars. I would like to learn more which I know this site has a ton of great info. Anyhow my guess is that like a steering fluid line has come undone from whatever cylinder or thing it's connected to. Can anyone tell me with this much info if they have had this happen or what they think may have happened how to fix how much it might cost? Thanks in advance for any advice. I did also try to search the forums for this problem before this post too so if there is one that I missed please do point me in the right direction...

Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

Front right wheel lost steering last night...

did the wheel kind of break out of place and fall off, or does it stay in place and turn back and forth, just not under the control of the steering wheel?
from what it sounds like, your tie rod broke - the pivoting rods that connect the steering rack to the wheels - best thing you can do is jack it up and take the wheel off, and look for anything broken or out of place (for something this serious, it will be obvious) - and then post up a picture or description of what you see.
if its just the tie rod, it wont be very expensive, youll just need an alignment after its replaced.
