Problem I have with rep though is sometimes it's as useless as post count. It doesn't necessarily mean the person knows what they're talking about, it means someone else agreed or disagreed with them. I got a rep a little while back that I would honestly have rather not gotten. I posted in a thread and took the other side to play the devils advocate. Another guy agreed with me even though he was wrong, but since I was "on his side" he left me positive rep. If I speak the truth and it doesn't go with what you think, you can negative rep me. If I'm an idiot and another idiot agrees with me he can give me positive rep. Problem is I can get a bunch of idiots to rep me up, but at the end of the day I'm still an idiot giving bad advice.

Maybe I'll run for president.

You know what I'm saying though? But I do think it's still a decent system, and a better alternative to relying on post count, because people abuse the rep system far less from what I've seen. Few people use it, and rarely at that, so it's still sort of sacred, it still has some meaning.

Just wanted to get that off my chest.

thats why we were hesitant about enabling it, and still dont encourage anybody to rely on it at all.
