ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

"Dont tell my wife" CB7 project

Whats up everyone! I'm a mitsubishi guy who's stumbled into the Honda game. I recently picked up a 93 auto sedan black with tan interior. I'm new to the Honda game but not modifying cars. This car is suppose to be my unmodified DD. Wifey has forbidden me taking on another project. I have 3 other projects as we speak lol. A 91 AWD Eagle Talon, 2012 GSXR 1000 and wifeys 97 Eclipse GST.

Now I just can help myself, I need add some pep in the CB7s step. Right now the cars almost completely bone stock except for an aerospeed muffler. Right now I'm looking into swaps. I've pretty much settled on a H swap but the car has to stay auto hence the projects name . I'm still sorting through most of the swap FAQ. But I'm still a bit confused on keeping the auto. I found an H23 with trans for $1250 Am I able to use that trans? If not im going to have to rebuild the current trans. Making in a bit easier to sneak the motor in

    How she currently sits

by the time you pull the transmission out and have it rebuilt, you may as well have just tossed in a whole H23 complete. It'll drop in pretty much directly, transmission and all.

Looks like a clean car, welcome to the site.

It depends on the "H23" you're referring to. If you're referring to the H23A1 then yes, it will all drop in fairly effortlessly and the only wiring you'll have to go given that you already have a car with an external coil and pre-wired IABs will be to run a wire for the knock sensor. However, $1250 for that swap would be akin to a kick in the nuts. Most likely you're referring to the H23A VTEC. That engine is a great engine to go with for streetable performance right out of the box. It's automatic transmission will work as well after swapping the solenoids out for your originals assuming it's from the 2WD model Accord SiR wagon. If it's from the 4WD Accord SiR wagon, obvious complications will arise.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

        Thanks for the replies guys.

This is the description from the add.

        "JDM Honda Accord Blue Top 1998 - 2002 H23A (Honda Prelude 1997 - 2001) Engine & Automatic Transmission."

When I go to check it out in person I'll check to make sure there is no option for a transfer case. The add does not mention whether or not it comes with a TCU. Are these TCUs hard to track down?

The TCU is integrated into the ECU. Only the pre-1996 models had separate ECUs and TCUs.

Wiring everything up to work properly (the automatic, especially with the manumatic function if you want it to work as it did in the original vehicle), and the ECU will require some pretty extensive work.

Honestly, the 92-95 H22A will be the easiest option. The results are decent. The automatic transmissions on any of these cars are not the best in terms of performance, but 200hp is 200hp... it'll be more fun regardless.
