I know most people drop there ride for appearance, but I'm tired of seeing suspension questions in the wrong section. People, suspension is a technical topic, NOT appearance.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I guess in my mind, the only reason to do suspension is for upgrade purposes only and not just for appearance. I get it though...

You can put the shit in either section. All depends on where the OP feels it should go. Lowering could be for appearance or technical. Who really gives a shit anyhow.

How low a setup will make you, which brands go lowest, numbers, ratios, heights, usable setups...are technical.
Really, none of suspension is appearance. Yes, changing your suspension changes the look of the car but the proper suspension appearance question(s) would be like, what does a car look like on _____ setup?
Shot in the dark here, I'll say around.....30% of people who lower their car, actually do it for function reasons. Maybe even less than that.
A car "should" handle better when lowered. Most people do it simply for look. Cars aren't meant to drive on the streets everyday with thier oil pans 3" from the ground. But it's "cool" so let's all jump off a bridge.
People ask/tell me all the time about lowering my car and how I'm gonna do it. Sure I could run out and buy type 2s and tuck tires but why? So I can burn through tires and put even more stress on my already aging parts?

My car's not a racecar. It's not a track car. IF that day ever comes, my suspension will fit accordingly. In the meantime though, it's not necessary. Im a spirited driver and I like to take some twists and turns and like the windy backroads. My suspension should be fitting of my driving habits. I rock stock 16s in the winter and 17s in the summer and I'll probably never have anything bigger than an 18. My suspension of choice will probably almost eliminate the gap, on 17s. I might have an inch or 2 above tire and Im completely fine with that.
