ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Go to the local dealership and tell them your story. Bring registration and your vin number. Up here they're $5 a key

Psh. Find a way to prove the car is yours. I'm sure you have something, after all, you keep your registration in your wallet, right?

I keep my registration in my glove box...

Do you have AAA? They can open your car for you. Once you do that, then you can find the nearest Honda dealership and have a key made. Trust me, that'd be MUCH easier than rekeying it! Plus, to rekey it, you'd need to get into it anyway.

The easiest way to rekey your car would be to find a junkyard car with a key. Take all locks, and the ignition switch. Put them in your car. Get copies of that key made so you can avoid this problem in the future (note to self... must make copies of ALL my car keys... I only have one of each myself!)

Give me about 7 days... I'll be right there.

Good luck, man. I know it sucks being stuck! You could always find a way to pop the lock (a coat hanger shoved through the rubber door seal works... I've done it a number of times.) then hotwire the car... I don't know how to do that, but it can be done. Drive it home, then fix the damage you did and replace the locks and ignition switch as mentioned above... or just get a new key. Not sure you want to keep the current locks and stuff with your key having been stolen.

Another thing that you could try is find another cb7 owner nearby and try their keys. Some CB7 keys have been known to open and start other cars. Usually due to wear in the tumbler assemblies. I was never able to do it, but it's been talked about on this site since 2003... and they've only grown older and more worn since then!

Use a tennis ball to pop the lock

I'd recommend hitting the ball though

Does that actually work? It doesn't seem like it would at all.
But... I think I'm going to try it this weekend, just for the hell of it.

No. I'm far to lazy to get all the materials together and find a car that isn't mine.
But from what my friend told me, there are videos of a guy that went to a parking lot and did it to a bunch of cars
