ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    New to the site

hey guys i'm new to the site, and accords for that matter. i have a 90 Honda Accord Lx 4 door . the car has the F22a1 with a 5 speed trans. I just bought the car in Aug '10, the car was in bad shape to begin with, such as leaks, outta every nook and cranny. started with replacing the water pump , oil pump , and timing belt. and just recently the motor was blown. coming back home from the in laws, with 300,000 plus miles and was not in the best of shape to begin with the motor blew out. Had it towed home and began my search for more horsepower on a N/A engine . i'm not looking for anything crazy. i've been looking on here for a good minute and have finally decided that i'm looking for around 200 hosrepower. i don't really want to go with a turbo kit. gas is too expensive . plus i have a 1 month old daughter. I'm also going back with a two tone paint job while my motor is being built , factory laurel blue with semi gloss black . just as soon as i can get my wifes Camera i will post up pics of my Ride

H22 also makes about 200 hp
      MRT
37.5 MPG, AC on, cruising at 80.
30.0 MPG, AC on, aggressively driving around 90.
27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit

Lots of DIY videos specifically for our car

Get some awesome wipers! <-- It's a DIY

I don't really think they are year specific.

All the info you need can be found in this section.

just read through the swap guide and an H22 is sounding a little outta my leauge so i guess i'm gonna try and make the most outta my f22, i've got a spare A6 engine for parts layin around. The only reason i'm not goign with the H22 is because of my wife and daughter. i really can't swing what they are going for online and good luck finding one in the junkyards around here. i'm gonna search around online a bit more for a good rebuild Kit. i've got a few friendds that are gonna help with the build so i can have my car back on the road

Honestly that is the most responsible post ive read on this forum in a long time.

Its all about knowing your price limits and experience limits.

If building the F is in your budget then go for it.

There is another good thread about getting the most out of the F.

You can get a lot out of the F series motors but it takes work and money.

                  I feel you.

I just got married last year and even though i don't have kids yet im trying to get a FT job to be able to properly support my wife and get us a house, so i have 0 money for mods for vehicles at this time.

                  Priorities!

Also congrats! It's tough with a newborn (life changer) - I had to put my CB7 on hold for awhile, but either way there is a lot you can do. Keep an eye out on here since people are doing a lot of swaps - you can probably find a cheap engine/trans. I stuck w/ the F22 because I've never had $2500 to spend on the swap, but it’s not a bad deal - you get a engine trans, ecu w/ low miles and a lot of other benefits.... and it's not too bad of a swap.

Thanks much. the only problem's that i have with buying a swap like that is the money and the fact that if i bought one . i would get very picky and change all of the seals and the water pump , timing belt , etc. i'm the kinda person that i want everything that could possibly go wrong addressed before it breaks down lol. i will def keep looking around here for parts. i heard that a few of the A6 parts will help with a lil bit of Horsepower

And when you do the h22 swap that's exactly what you have to do (change everything you mentioned). So are you still looking to get 200whp on the f22?

                          SOLD!!

If at All Possible. i really don't wanna go turbo, a DOHC swap would be nice if i could afford it.
if not 200 as close as possible. i've been searching for what pistons etc that i need for the build

Check around here (search search search), there's plenty of swap info, also FI and nitrous as well.

Have fun and throw some pics up.
