ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

EXTREME Cold - How does your CB like it?

So today the temperature is still dropping, supposed to be -40 celcius with windchill! BRRRRRRRRRR!

How does your car react to the cold?

Today I went to start my car, and it cranked a lot slower than normal, but luckily it still started (it better.. got a new battery less than a year ago, designed for extreme cold). Also my auto shifter feels sludgy like syrop when i try to shift, but when it gets warm feels nice and smooth as usual. other than that, my car loves the cold. How bout you guys? [edit] also my cruise control doesnt work in freezing temperatures for some reason

X2^ But my car loves it. I was out roasting my tires last night, just revved her to about 2000rpms with my foot on the brake and gunned it and I could spin em half way through second.

i can't get very much heat below 20 degrees F. (a partially plugged heater core will do that) It makes it difficult to keep the windshield from icing over....

Also, i get crunches putting it into 2nd and 3rd (due to the previous owner neglecting maintenance) especially while the engine is warming up.

Also, my cruise control doesn't work below 20 degrees.

But all in all, it starts and runs fine in the cold.

god i love winter. supposed to be -13F here tonight!

I had a slow crank today, and it took a bit for the fuel to get to the engine.
                My trans makes a screech.
My power steering is heavy until the fluid warms up.
When it's really cold and there's a blizzard, I NEED to heat my brakes up. I usually go back and forth in my driveway a few times.
When my car is heating up, I can turn on the heat and watch the engine temp gauge go back down.

Uzume's slow to crank, the shifter is notchy until the tranny warms up, and the blower fan went out a little over a month ago, so it's FUCKING COLD in the car below 25 F. But she loves the cold air for power. Hates launching when it's cold though, even if she's rolling, if I hit WOT in first, the tires are breaking loose. I came out of a turn in the country last week at WOT in second, straightened her up and when and as soon as she hit about 4k; tirespin. Relatively slow building tire spin, not the sudden 'redline-smacking I just caught an icy patch' tirespin.

I just tried to start my car again, only this time it fucking wont. Still a good -30 outside. I HAVE TO GO TO WORK ummm... in 5 minutes

[edit] haha this is mental. its still -30 outside in the SUN, windchill -38. earlier when i tried to start the car it was with my 2-way starter, which failed miserably. i tried again just now with my keys, and still wont fire. the battery has plenty of juice, it cranks and cranks (tho a little slower than normal) but the car is just frozen solid. the heater knob even snapped off in my hand (luckily i have a box full of spares). wowza! no work for me today..

Did you leave the car in II for a bit? To get fuel pressure back?

I'm not sure, but I'd imagine it takes less battery power to pressurize the fuel system then it does crank the engine.
