ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Lower Balljoint Finally gave.

    The title says it all.

My drivers side lower balljoint popped. Crushed my new fender, crunched my down pipes, screwed the tire, cracked a rim I think, took out the axle and destroyed my ABS. All but the ABS is fixed now, can't figure it out. Must be something wrong with the ABS cable, it looks good on the outside but inside may be internally damaged.

The funny part is it happened while pulling into the parking stall at friends work. He's a local mech.

Ouch. Good thing you werent moving at highway speeds though. That could of been way worse then fixing your car.

A nice car is a dime a dozen. It's the amount of respect you give your car that makes it a GREAT car...and it shows.

i didn't feel safe with my old as dirt factory lower ball joints, so i replaced them after reading all the horror stories like this.

glad to see that you weren't hurt or anything.

One thing I'm glad I don't have to worry about. Doesn't hurt that I have the larger + stronger Prelude LBJs. Def. the last of my worries

If u have another car, just take the knuckles off and go get em pressed at a shop. It's a life/death deal.

This is a perfect example of what happens when you neglect the ball joints. People always just assume "oh, it won't happen to me!" Glad you weren't hurt, man!

Quick tip to see if you need new bj's: Jack up the front of the car so the wheels are off the ground. Take a pry bar, longer the better, and pry between the control arm and knuckle. If there is play between them, time to replace that bj.

I'll grab the ABS wire next trip to wrecker. Sorry no pics, I'm sure you guys have a pretty good idea of what it looks like.

I had the new BJs in the trunk. The one that broke had no play, it was just really dry. My quess is the turn into the lot seized it up cause once it was out the ball was welded solid to the cup. It snapped right at the knuckle.
