ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

You don't have to like what he did, but I would hope that you can appreciate the time, money and love that went in to the build. If you can't, you're not really an enthusiast, just another dumb kid with a car.-visualpoet

              price is fine...

but anyone got proof these "tests" actually mean a damn thing? Proof other carbon fiber hoods wouldn't perform equally? He didn't apply much pressure when standing on it either...shoulda hit the middle

I know a OEM hood wouldn't stand up to that...but this isn't OEM...just seems more of a "buy carbon fiber" ad to me...not a "ours is better" ad

It's more the finish than the carbon fiber that is holding up.

Too bad andy's auto sport has HORRIBLE service... and they may send you a hood for a PT Cruiser...

                  LOL.

They did a test somewhere with a vfiber body kit and they beat the shit out of it and it didn't do anything either. It seems to be decent stuff. Duraflew makes stuff like this.

the fire test is lame, since all it did was burn off the acetone fuel, so its not the equivalent of actually taking a fire/torch to the hood. i used to light my skateboard on fire, people would OOOH and AHHH and then the fuel would burn out and leave my skateboard unharmed (and actually at a cooler temperature than it started)

the only things that impressed me were the impact resistance and price...

                      Very true.
VFiber has been around, and I had their CF hood on one of my 240's. It was the only one that fit snug on there. VIS and Seibon both had terrible fitment, not to mention they were also $200+ more than the VFiber. I definitely recommend VFiber, just not Andy's Auto Sport.

you have to remember the 150-200 shipping tacked on too.

but yes, impact seems to be pretty awesome

I know my cf hood has been on fire before, and real fire. Not this acetone shit. It still looks ok.

You should be able to pour acetone on a paper towel, and the paper towel "should" remain unburnt by the time the acetone is done burning.
