ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    H3 bulb

has anyone ever thought of putting an h3 bulb on the bumper lenses to make it in to a fog light....i know its not a direct fit but it might with some modifications

You would also need depth clearance for the H3.

h3 is smaller than the stock bulb, the only issue you will run into is the heat put off from the h3 melting the housing.

i used to run an always-on single 1156 (blinker) bulb in my clear bumper lenses... started melting the plastic... i bet a MUCH brighter, MUCH hotter bulb used as almost-always-on foglights would melt those suckers pretty quick...

if you REALLY want to try, heres a very simple solution: http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm

scroll down just below halfway to "The Beacon" its a 50-watt (freaking headlight!) H3-type bulb mounted on a standard 1156 blinker base

i have a few of these on my desk i just havent tried them yet...

even in their disclaimer they suggest using them as reverse lights (only used once in a while) instead of constant foglights...

a couple years ago there was a member who mounted H3 bulbs in his bumper lenses, and showed pictures of the output. they were SUPER BRIGHT and projected horizontal lines, similar to light shining through a set of blinds on a window, because if you look at the front of the lense, thats how the plastic is moulded.

good luck with your experimenting, and be sure to check out the rest of autolumination, its a fantastic automotive lighting site... if its a quirky cool or LED bulb out there, THEY HAVE IT

          but led has no output.

i tried to fit a bulb in the lens....it was a neat idea but it was blinding. i squashed the whole idea and made the bumper lights running lights. just do fogs.

also it will melt that housing in no time.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Do you mean the low beam or the bumper light bulb?

            1156

            H3

I was under the impression the H3 were the smallest low beam bulb but they were bigger than the corner/stop/brake/tail bulb.

I agree on the heat issue.
