ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    paint fading :(

Just recently the paint on this car is fading like hell, it has just happened in the last 2 months or so. The car has been kept in a garage most of the time but now its fading and I dont think it's age either. On a nice day you can see the paint looks like someone scrubbed it with a wire brush, its pretty damn ugly. But in the rain the car almost looks silver which is pretty cool but the fading paint is ugly. Is there any products or something that can be used on the car to prevent it from getting any worse? or anything that can make it disappear or make it look better? As you can see it looks like some idiot decided to sand the hood, but nope, just the paint fading

        1. Get a clearer pic
        2. How much did you pay for the job
        3. Go back to the people that painted your vehicle and tell them.

                1. Will do that when the sun comes up later.
                2. Nothing
                3. The colour is OEM

and a new paintjob is a bit too expensive

                Would waxing it protect it?

Crap I cant read. Looks like you got a big spot on your hood too. Looks like your best bet is to repaint the whole car but a clearer pic will help X 100000.

hmmm, id say from the way you described the scratches that someone at some point had it buffed and polished and they didnt know what theywere doing. clearcoat burn could be from massive sun exposure. at this point you'd be better off sanding off the rest of the crap and at least primering it to protect the metal from anything worse. at least until you can repaint. nothing chemically is gonna help you much now.

Oh well, poor car, i think riding around town with a faded hood is better than riding around with a primed hood IMHO seeing there's no damage to the actual metal yet

And yeah the car is pink that's how we got the car, I seen alot of pink ones like ours, but theres still have there colour, in fact, others look purple and ours looks pink cause of the fading paint

i know exactly what youre talking about, its happening to my grey 90 EX. theres nothing you can do about it, besides sand it and paint over it... the paint has reached the end of its life span.

im really not sure. of course weve all seen older cars with better paint, but for some reason the paint is just... dying. maybe ur hood spot is from engine heat? i dont know, but mine is on the trunk lid and back of the roof, its a faded spot in the center, with scratched up, wire-brush looking random scrapes all around it.
