ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Wiring up the spoiler

I got an OEM EX wing for my LX and it also includes a brake light. Aside from having to drill holes in the trunk, Ill also need to wire the light. If anyone is familiar with this type of job please let me know what steps to take to complete a thorough installation.

Drill holes mount it and tap into your current 3rd break light for power

you can cut off the socket for the third brake light and run the wires to the spoiler, or if you still have access to the trunk lid that the spoiler came from, theres a short wire harness added into the trunk lid on OEM spoiler-equipped cars, which makes it a direct plugin to the back of one of the trunk brake lights. theres also a relay harness along the top of the trunk by the light that reaches behind the driver side trunk panel to the antenna, with it hooked up, it makes the antenna go down when you pop the trunk. otherwise the spoiler hits the antenna.

Well heres the thing, I'm not getting the spoiler from a trunk. I'm getting an OEM one for real cheap thats brand new and painted so it wont be a quick plug and play. I'll have to splice the wires. As for not connecting the third brake light, why would i wanna do that?

Hit up a junkyard and find the 2 harnesses that came with the spoiler kit. There's one that hooks up to the brake light and one (with a relay) that lowers the antenna when you pop the trunk so the spoiler doesn't hit the antenna (as was previously mentioned). Then you'll need the left hand brake light sensor and the trunk springs from a spoiler equipped car to do it properly... The third brake light is disabled on CB7s with the OEM wing. If you get the proper harnesses and all of the parts required, it's a very simple install. I can send you the OEM instructions if you need them.
