ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Led Underbody Kits

So Im buying a set of Hankooks for my 15 inch prelude stars. I cant afford doing a 5 lug right now and the tires are 500AA rating which should last long enough.

Well I do allot of driving at night for my job and I use my car. What I can afford is some underbody lighting. The reasoning behind this is maybe some stupid drunk wont run into the back of my car or T bone me. Im willing to "rice" my car out with this mod right now but only because I would feel safer driving at night with an underbody kit.

Can you guys recommend a kit you've used?

I don't want to get the 2.1 million colour LED's. That's not my point to look like a fruit pie driving down the street. I was thinking of white or yellow. I'm leaning towards yellow. Since yellow is a colour that signifies *caution* and white is a colour that normally attracts the eye. But remember drunks don't have good eye hand co-ordination. So yeah Any help or discussion ?

Check Visualpoet's MRT, he has underglow. Another alternative would be intersection lights front/rear. A lot of members have done those and they don't look as "ricey" (as you put it). And I think intersection lights would probably be cheaper.

Aren't you afraid that a drunk may mistake you for a bar?

Besides you will get pulled over and get a ticket, it will be distracting to other drivers and probably cause more accidents then prevent.

With that said I had a led kit on my old car years ago that had a controller to change to many different colors or even cycle through them all, also it would strobe or fade or do tons of stuff. Had it for car shows, it was a plasmaglow kit.

the odds of getting a ticket for it are kinda slim here bro. I really think Dallas police aren't worried about led lights. The amount of people with custom cars in Dallas is absolutely crazy. People honk big huge semi-big rig air horns at every intersection just "cause" and that shit is stupid loud. I doubt the guys rolling with led in the wheels and under body were getting tickets. I would only hear about that in the PODUNK town . Because PODUNK town cops are absolute shit from my PODUNK experiences but here in Dallas I've seen nothing but good police work.

nope. the guy I bought my CB7 from also equipped it with a huge fart can, so when I get ready for impact all rev the piss out of it and he'll think im a swarm of bee's. With the yellow LED's of course

i think iim just gonna go with the 90 dollar kit next check. :/ but this check im getting my hankooks w000t!

Im not half ass doing a 5 lug conversion either. Everything must be brand new from lugs to studs to calipers to hoses. Every thing must be band new for me to be sure nothing "comes up" after the conversion. Plus I plan on painting the calipers and maybe getting some TL rims or aftermarket dont know yet /rant/

Check out a company called LEDGlow. I used their interior kit and, for the money, the kit is great. They have single color kits as well as 7 color kits for decent prices.

While Your intentions are fine, the Underbody lights won't help steer drunks away from your car.

Look at the Police cars, Some have been rammed into with their lights on while on the side of the road. Or drunks slamming into cars in broad daylight ( yes I have seen it ). Best way to avoid the drunks,

is watch your surroundings when you see a car driving eradict infront of you going the same direction,

Call the local police, give them the plate number,(if you know; then make/model of car) address, and direction of travel.Slow down, turn your hazards on so people won't speed past you until authorites come.

If oncoming, pull off to the side, hope those behind you do the same, and call the authorities immediatly.

Yes I had this happen, I called state police, I gave them the information, didn't know the exact address but I told them I'm 50 ft behind him going the same direction with my hazards on, They came literally within minutes.

Friend of mine installed these (Purple LED underglow) on his Benz-Kompressor. Really good quality stuff and a broad even glow. Underglow isnt for me but the LEDGlow stuff looks good i think. It sure has came a long ways from the old tube style underglow 10-15 years ago.
