ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

6th gen rear visor and summer heat

I purchased a 6th gen Accord rear visor a few months back. Recently it has fallen off, I managed to catch it before I started driving. I redid the 3M tape and was wondering if I should wait until winter to reinstall the rear visor? I'm pretty sure it's our 90 degree summer heat that took it off the glass.

Was this due to the rear windshield glass heating up too much?

Are there any other stronger adhesives?

Double-sided 3M tape. Otherwise, your only other options are permanent.

That's what I'm using, but it seems like every time it gets super hot outside, the tape just doesn't to stick anymore. What are some permanent options?

3m is really kind of your best bet, and personally I wouldn't put it on in the winter just because of your problem. The cold just makes the plastic more brittle. I use 3m double sided on my window visors and I live in Iowa, summers here are brutal asFu. My visors have never slid or moved once...

Permanent options are emblem adhesive, clear silicone....all purpose cement. Pick one, lol.

There's a good chance one, if not all, of them can/will damage your paint though.

Like everyone has said 3M is your best option. Just be sure to clean the window very well before installing it next time.

Also any pictures of the rear visor on your car?
I've heard the 6th gen has the best fitment, but haven't been able to find many pictures of it.

I had this issue when installing the oem window visors...I cleaned the area with some rubbing alcohol first. And like tommi said the prep work.

I half assed it the first time and they started to fall off a few weeks ago (as soon as it got hot).

They are on there very securely now.

Yeah, I'm gonna try 3M tape again and do some thorough prep work this time. I'll get some pictures of the fitment after I install sometime this weekend

Yeah, I'm going to clean the glass better this time around. You've never had problems with heat?

Kind of off my topic, but 3M works with window visors? I thought you needed screws and brackets or something. Have any pictures of it on your car?

Oh, I just thought because the heat made the 3M weaker, so installing it in the winter would make it stronger or something lol..

Hey also do you know how long I should wait after applying the 3M tape to the visor before applying it to the glass. And should I apply the visor to the glass in the shade and/if I should leave it out of the sun after applying? If so, how long?

They came from the factory with BOTH clips and double sided tape. As of right now mine are held up by the tape just to see if i liked them. Didn't want to go through the trouble of attaching all of the clips, if i decided to swap out this badly damaged set.
