ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Aftermarket projectors not working

Hows it goin fellow tuners. I bought a set projector headlights about a year ago and now one of the low beams won't come on. I replaced the bulb with no luck, did not fix it. My question is do you think I'll have to disassemble and rewire? All my other lights work and I'm pretty sure I'm answering my question. But I wanted to see if anyone else ran into this problem. And I know I shouldn't have bought ebay projectors but I really like them. Thanx in advance

It has nothing to do with the headlights/projectors... they're just plastic and glass. The problem is in your wiring.

There is wiring in the headlight assembly beyond where stock harness plugs into, I guess I'll have to get out the tester and see where the problem lies

Really? That's kinda strange... I've owned aftermarket projectors before (though never installed them.) It was just a piece of plastic/glass that the bulb plugged into, no differently than the stock housings.
Is the projector wiring between the stock harness and the bulb?

The projectors use h1/h3 bulb so it has some wiring to adapt the 9006 to it.
          wat?

If you're using an HID conversion kit, check the ballasts. I had one fail in a conversion kit I put in a motorcycle and it drained my battery dry and tried to set itself on fire.

you have a ground issue with those h3 bulbs. if you wiggle the bulb and it comes on you found your problem. ive dealt with many of those cheap ebay lights and thats always the problem. get rid of them.

I want some nice one piece lights but they're really expensive, I might just use my projectors and make some DIY lights.

I have the projectors that are commonly found on ebay, the connectors on them are crap, and the glue they use to hold them on even crappier. I would take a look into the connection for the low beam, as maybe one of the pins isn't going all the way in. Other then that, and the little running lights between the low beams and high beams that came with them burned out in less then a week, I don't have any qualms, but I do plan on replacing them in the future. I just needed a cheap fix after my cb was in an accident, plus they look good imo on my car.
