ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Rust in very scary places!

Okay so i have rust around my wind shield and where the spoiler connects to the trunk. both are causing leaks and id accept any help on this crazy issue because decent 5 speed cb's are hard to come by around my area be cause of the constant wet weather. Ill post pics as soon as i get a camera(some time this evening).

Sounds like you have a decision to make.
Try to fix it, or scrap it.
    Good luck

it would be ugly bt u could use rubber under coating spray.it will slow it down by alot till you come up with a solution.

Only if you sand off the rust first. Simply painting over rust won't do a thing.

Rust around the windshield is probably the worst rust of all.
Cost about $600-1000 to propertly fix it.... your best is to find a better no rust shell to begin with.

If you find a nice auto Accord you can always use the 5 speed parts out of your current car to convert it.

Im thinking im just gonna get a new trunk.....

thats the windshield. the top rust leaks. the side is just there. My windshield is cracked and will be soon replaced. could i get away with repairing it while its out?

as far as fender rust, its easily than repairable.

From looking at the pic above it dont look too bad... get it fix before getting a new windshield.

A rusty CB with only the quarter panels rust is much easier to repair then the shieldshield rust...because you dont have to take out the glass.

                        yes do that..

As for the trunk rust, just go get a no rust trunk at the locl junk yard for less than $50 ..cheaper than getting it fix.
