ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Rear Bumper

I took off the rear bumper and siding/ skirts on my car so that i could easily reach the rust to cut it out. When taking the bumper off the screws would not come out. They were Rubber or plastic screws. So i cut the washer type things on them and just popped the bumper off. How are you suppose to get them out correctly? I saw them at a junkyard but still had the same problem. Maybe there is a substitute for these screws?

    Thanks,

    Gabriel

Are you talking about the 11 plastic screw/clips across the top, or the three on the bottom? The center portion of them is threaded and they can be difficult to remove. Find a wide screwdriver that fits tight in the groove, then use as light a pressure as you can to back the screws out, then you should be able to pop the clip out. For the eleven across the top, best to leave them there (you can't get to all of them with the bumper installed anyway). Remove the two nuts inside the trunk (behind plugs in the back panel) and the two nuts underneath (behind plastic covers at the ends of the 'frame' rails) and undo the brackets at the front end of both sides, then the whole bumper assembly will slide off the back.

I've found generic ones at general auto part stores, but I usually get them either from salvage yard vehicles when I'm there or get them from Honda. (cheaper from Majestic Honda online if you're buying a bucnh of stuff).

No, they all have a fine thread on them, the screw portion needs to be backed out probably 3/8 inch, then if you pull on it, the hole clip should come out, or if you take the screw portion all the way out a thin blade under the head of the larger portion can be used to life it out.
