ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

would trimming the foam help? im sure you could find something coarse that could shave the foam down, like a cheese grater lmao. personally i wouldnt install a fiberglass kit without something behind it for support, but ive never attempted one before.

I am doing this right now too. I just started yesterday. I got a used kit from a friend and it needs some work as far as fitment/fiberglass issues but I didn't pay hardly anything for it. I haven't gotten the front piece on yet but we didn't use the styrofoam on the back. Actually now that I think about it I don't even have it to put inside the front when it goes on lol. The braces I am defnitely looking to making though.

Yeah I haven't had to do it before. This is the first kit I have attempted getting right. I'm guessing if you had a friend to help hold it and maybe a sawzall with a blade made to cut metal. That way the teeth would be smaller but it would make a cleaner cut. I really have no clue though. I wouldn't think you could mess it up too badly though. I mean even if you have messy cuts or something..........all of your work will be covered up. It's just there for support so as long as it's there and you have it secured it should be good. Even if you do mess it up and aren't happy with the outcome you could always just go to the junkyard and get another for next to nothing. Good luck with everything man. I have to get back outside and finish sanding. I got some F1 fenders to see how they would turn out and the original owner had painted them like extension cord orange.

That's gonna look nice. Like I said before I got mine used from a friend so it already had a small crack in it lol. I think he said it was the spyder kit but I haven't checked that out. I haven't ever had one and it seems like it will look decent but it just needs some work. Oh well i'll learn how to do bodywork a little bit better I guess.
