What is this insect?

So im walking in the door to my house and freak the fuck out when i see this bug i have never seen before. If any of you know me, I cannot stand insects and scream like a little girl when i am close or one gets on me. This was no exception.

Shoulda put it in a jar. That thing looks bad ass. MIght be some sort of beetle by the looks of the shell if not some sort of roach lol.

looks like a "root borer" or some other variation of a long horned beetle... usually the males have the longer horns if it makes any difference lol... harmless, just creepy.
