Red Light Camera in NY

So my situation is as follows. I was driving down Crossbay BLVD towards the belt pkwy. I passed 153rd ave and there was a stop light. It was a green light but by the time I got to the light it turned yellow. There was another car that crossed the intersection with me. About the same time. And I saw a flash and it just happens so that there was a camera there.

So my question is, what happens when they get you on camera running the yellow light or whatever its called. Do you get just a fine or get points on your license also?

anyone in NY went through this?

they mail you a ticket. i dont think that they could put points on your license because they have no way of telling who was driving.
hopefully the camera didnt get a good picture of your plates.

Yea thats what everyone is telling me. I could care less about the money i have to pay, just the points and all that shit I dont want to go through. I wonder how much it is BTW

they got proof if you did run the light if they got the pictures of the plates. they get some good pictures. And no no points on your licence i remember i got caught it was 68 bucks. Careful though in different areas they vary and ive seen them range up to as high as $100 so watch yourself out there. And remember yellow means come to a stop. and dont run it its mainly there to deter people who get caught to not to forget because once you run it say cheese.

i dont think they will send you a ticket over a yellow light, as they are legal to drive through.

something similar to that happened to me ...but i was already under the light but a pick up ran the light and it seemed like it took pictures of both cars. Havent received ticket yet. It happened to me like around November or December.

I think you're ok, if you ran thru it while it was yellow. You said you saw a flash tho right? well maybe it was yellow for you, and you're ok, but it was red for the guy on the other side and he got a picture of him.

Now that I think of it, these cameras take pictures of the back plates I believe. So if you saw the flash in front of you, i don't think you were caught. I wonder, how fast would you have to be going, to blow by so quick that the camera can't get your picture? 130 mph?

Nah you dont get any points for it but still who wants to just give away money to the state?

You should try out this photo blocker spray stuff. I sprayed it on my plates and i went through a red light camera (not intentionally) and saw the whole flash and everything and i didnt get the ticket. But the thing with the spray is that its not effective in full daylight but as the sun is going down and at night it makes it tough to catch a good pic of the plate because its like it reflects the flash back so the plate isnt legible.

sorry to tell you but your gonna get the ticket by mail....cause by law yellow light means slow down not go faster like we all do/think.......since you went faster on the yellow by the time you came across the intersection the light turn red so whatever is still in the intersection that the beam senser picks up gets a big ...SAY HELLO TO THE CAMERA FLASH...lol.....you will not win in court so just pay the $95 dallor ticket

its not even about he yellow its a fact if he got flashed or not. You see this is the thing mike you can be traveling and the shit turns yellow over the militenth of a second that you cross that line once your tail crosses the other half of that line the flash will go off. Its like trickery you can either have someone crash into the back of you,or drive slow then come to a stop on the yellow or get cheesed when the flash goes off. Its made to reel in money for those foolish enough to gun it it clocks your speed and once you speed up it knows when to lessen the time flash increasing the chances to catch you .

Theyll mail you a price to pay on the bill they charged you on the fine. But i warn you though and you had better (SAVE YOUR RECIEPT!) one time they tried to fuck me over. They tried to say i didnt pay the bill but i remembered that i left my reciept when i payed mine in the drawer in the computer room. Then they dismissed it but they already had put out a charge to take my car but i always keep my shit locked up.

I knew if i had left it outside my car would have been gone and tampered and fondled by some thief. I showed themt he reciept from the money order then they where like OH! and im like yeah oh i mean comon we pay these muthafuckas with our tax dollars makin mistakes like that or are they doin it purposely to collect and tax our rides and try to collect more money out of us gotta ask yourself that question.
