so recently ive been exploring abandoned buildings with my friends, and id like to share all my pictures with you guys. most of the time we track down and explore old Psychiatric Asylums/Hospitals, but there are some other cool locations also, like my first set below, which is of an old empty bar.

ill be continually adding new sets of pictures to this thread as we check out more and more cool places. theres a bunch that i still havent gotten to, and a bunch that i would like to go back to just so i could take some pictures. but heres what ive got so far. be careful, between all these pages there are hundres of pictures, so it may take a long time to load on a slow connection, and it may take up most of your night trying to look through them all!! otherwise ENJOY and let me know what you think!

      Middletown Psychiatric Center

after checking out the Rusty Nail, we headed back to the familiar Middletown Psychiatric Center that weve been into numerous times. we went down to the basement of the worst building (scariest area) in search of some "tunnels" that supposedly connected buildings together underground, based on a new tip from a friend.

we found the end of the tunnel, but it was blocked in by two floors that had collapsed through the basement. but we found a way into the back and discovered a ton of awesome new rooms in a separate new building that weve never seen before. i ran out of room on my camera (plus it was pitch black and was taking blind shots) so im going back tomorrow to get a bunch of clear pictures. it was the most interesting part of the psych center that ive seen yet, and ive been through most of the buildings!

      (click for fullsize!)

the door we go in, leading onto the first floor.

      old chairs...

      and now to the basement:

power conduit leading to a nearby fuse breaker unit

which leads directly to the center of this (possibly ??) electroshock room

one of the other rooms to the side

      a cage-gated little room?

came across an open coffin, and the large round thing behind it is a furnace.

actually, its a stack of coffins! a couple still new in crates... there are a few more to the right as well.

annnnnd up on to the second floor:

the ceiling is water-rotted through with pastey white icicles dripping.

notice the door with the round hole and small closable peep window.

what used to be a set of sinks in a bathroom.

a lonely chair out on the fire escape.

its really freaky the first time entering a new area. you hear weird sounds sometimes, birds, dripping water, etc... but really once you go thru the area once its not so bad to go back again. i dont understand why, but at least in this one particular building, every gate and door was left wide open... other buildings were also simple to get into...

while we were there we found a 9 person camping tent (full kit - PARTY TENT) plus some other cool stuff like a box of a dozen shot glasses
