    greddy, you can go to hell


    for almost trashing my motor not even 2 minutes after i got it started. cheap ass timing belt! looks like i get to swap timing belts while the engine is still in the car. fun stuff..

        sure did. it started getting chewed up by the timing belt cover. saw fibers flying all over the place out of the corner of my eye. i was standing on the passanger side of the car too. thank god i caught it!

              pretty rare that this happens. usually due to a bad pully or tensioner broken or not tensioned correctly. Greddy belts are not made by greddy they are made by gates which are some of the best belts in the world! but yea i would have stuck with oem on this one but im positive this is not the belts fault.

                That doesn't look like a belt problem. That looks like an incorrect tension/installation problem. Even the cheapest timing belt on the planet won't walk to the outside of the pulley just because it sucks.

                  That happened to a friend of mine when he had someone convert his H22 to the manual tensioner... It's not the belt.

                        I vote tensioner as well. A bad belt would snap. The ONLY thing that could be the belt's fault is if it were slightly too long... but that is unlikely, given the source of it.

                        Regardless, it's good you caught it! Replacing the belt is a LOT better than replacing the motor!
