that doesnt even make physical sense... grounding the frame to pavement? maybe if it was wet and salty out people spend money on things without even first thinking of their logical use/application...

        Why?

Like Ralphie said, is a static shock really that bad?

The only time I can think of static electricty causing a problem under normal circumstances is if you were to pull into a gas station to fill up, get back in the car and then have a spark from your body to the pump and start your car on fire.. And that isn't too common of a problem, around here anyways..

Seems pointless and distracting to me. Like one of those things that you see dragging behind a nice car and laughing at such a nice car having something dragging behind it throwing sparks.. Later

The whole strap is rubber with some metal to make up the body as I recall. Its supposed to "dissipate" the energy onto the concrete or some crap like that. It was used on older cars for older people scared that the static shock can cause explosions because of gas fumes or some shit like that. lol that was what my uncle told me on his old citroen. He had on on there. I always thought it was a level deal to tell you you had too many people in your car when I was a kid. I can tell you its not JDM because you see it used in most parts of asia lol. Most of those things arent used anymore anyway you rarely see them over there.

                          C'mon guys!!!
i'd get this for holistic reasaons.. Don't u guys know symptoms of high voltage in the body can cause, fatigue & drowsiness(not good for driving at night!), irritability(ROAD RAGE!), and motion sickness(it's like drunk driving!!).. Get them static electricity off ur backs and u'll be in better health and a better driver!
