Looking at the 2001 CL TYPE S..thoughts?

Ok so i love the cb.....but its old and im not in a financial situation to keep up with the repairs on a 15 year old car. Now im not very serious, im just looking at options....and if i did sell id stick around for sure and id eventually get another cb to mod fully when the time was right....

So the work my cb needs is- new drivers side axle, rotors pads, need a new ac compressor(i think) gonna need paint in a year or two....maybe new trunk lid....new trunk carpeting....new drivers side speaker grill, still needs header back and exaust....and upgraded struts.

Not so serious but its there...and with the ac going out its hard to drive around with a car with barely any tint and leather seats...

So i just really wanted to know what everyone thought about the 2001 CL/TYPE S.

Id rock the reg cl....the TYPE s is sweet as well....if i go that route i deff want black leather rofl....i love it...and the ext colors would be either the white, black or that grey/silver it comes in....

Ive checked the stats, its a sweet ride...never been in one and ive not paid a lot of attention to Acura's sedan/ luxury stuff....most of what if read on Acuras has been Teg/NSX/ Legend so all the other shit is new too me.

I know someone on here has one and is an active member....

So yea just share your comments and any input on the cl...cuz its looking real good for right now...if i could get 3 for my cb at least and then maybe get a loan and make payments to help build credit and then in a few years when im making 80k a year i could turn around and buy a 5spd cb coupe and go to town on it....

But well see, if i can get my cb fixed this winter in fla for free from the pops through Honda then im gonna be rocking her for a bit longer....so it really depends on whether or not i can afford to fix and maintain her while i go to school and save for a house.

    Bleh, /rant.

Oh and for those who dont know what it looks like

    Interior is fucking pimp!

    Hell ya!!!

just a thought but wouldnt it be cheaper to fix the problems with the accord than get a new car? an acura no less?

not trying to be an asshole, just making sure you've seen the situation from every angle

Ya no it would be cheaper to fix the Cb then get a new car but im looking at long term....im going to be in school full time starting sept 08 for 2 years...and even tho ill be working i wont always have the time to work on the cb....and even tho i dont care about things breaking and such i mean its more possible for the cb to have problems then for a new car, even tho there are exceptions.

I just basically want a reliable newer car to not have to worry about untill im comfortable in my career and i can afford to throw money into a car again....see...kinda like you and deevs did....if i could keep the cb and just store it and get something i would but im not established yet....so id have to sell the cb to afford anything else lol...

its in the air still...it will be expensive...i got a insurance qoute on a 2001 cl for NY and it was 164 a month...where i pay 122 now...so its a lil more expensive..i dunno thanks tho i appreciate it...!!!

if i ever come across a wrecked one of those, the drivetrain and interior are without a doubt being put into my CB.

the CL is like the rounded coupe version of the TL... i prefer the edges/shape of the TL i just wish it were a coupe.

either way those motors are sick, and they are beautiful cars.

one thing to think about, though, is that youll be spending LOADS more on a new CL than you would on those few parts for the CB... so saying its financially better to buy the CL is a little mixed up, its more of an overall thing... its newer cleaner with less maintenance, but its definitely not cheaper

I'd get the cl and keep the cb. Can you swing the insurance for both tho'? I'd imagine the cb's insurance wouldn't be much.

CLs are nice, the same exact thing as a TL, and a lot of the suspension parts are interchangeable with the CB. Like my spindles right now are off of a CL. Anyways theyre good cars, but the trannies on them are made by ford, so they have a recall on them for 8 yrs/100,000 miles i think. Also i heard that on TLs after about 100,000 all the ball joints start to need changing depending on previous ownership.

Ive always had an eye for that style CL and TL. Those type-S's are sweet-ass yo! I want a TL cuz its a sporty sedan, and it comes with that semi-body/lip kit, but the CL comes in that wicked blue. If youre going to get one, either black or blue. And make sure it has HIDs too

BTW - some of those INT pcs look like they could be interchangeable with some CB parts.....

GL deciding and keep everyoen posted.

BTW II - its DrLovesKuDang who has one
