    Credit card fraud

Just wanted to say I got a phone call from my credit card company this morning and they asked me if I made a purchase of $1083.00 at some store in Italy. I was like "Hell No", and the lady said that's what she thought. So I had to destroy my credit card and will be getting my money back. It's fucked up because I never use this credit card, I mean the only transactions I use it for are to pay for my cell phone and that comes straight out of the account, I can't remember the last time I swipped it anywhere. Fucking frauds and it was in fucking ITALY....wtf.

    SOLD!!

no they do not get away with it. credit card companies watch transactions and look for anything fishy, and when somebody is attempting to make a fraudulent purchase, they call to confirm it before allowing it to go through.

not long ago tjmaxx's computers were compromised, and everybody who has shopped at tjmaxx, marshalls, homegood, or any related store, had their credit card number compromised. visa closed THOUSANDS and thousands of cards and sent all new ones out, and anybody who had fraud charges was able to get it back without a problem.

it literally happens every day, tons of times per day - card companies are very aware of this and as long as youre the actual owner of the card, they will always help you out.

btw i work at a bank and im one of hte people who put through fraud charge claims.

They do watch out. One time my mom sent me with her debit card to fill up the tanks in her 2 cars. I did so, and then she told me to fill mine up too. Did that. Like $100 in gas at the same station in 30 minutes. We got a call from the bank a few minutes later asking about it.

Well I think they did get away with the original $1083, but then they tried another transaction that didn't go through. So yes I believe they were able to fraud that amount of money. I mean how would they get caught. And yes credit card companies are good at detecting fraudulent transactions and they will protect you against it (meaning you will get your money back), but there is someone out in Europe who just got $1083 for free

this happened to me.. but it was someone in the UK that tried to buy $367.49 worth of stuff on a UK video game site or something.. credit card co. called me, told me.. and i was stuck in Chicago, without a credit card(was on winter break at the time too) .. when the creditor called me, and told me, i asked him.. "what did they buy? .. a Wii?" .. "if so can i have it?" (this was all before i got one) lol

it was so elaborate though .. first they spent 2 dollars, to see if it would go through, and when it did 20 minutes later they tried to spend $300+, that's when i got the phone call. So hopefully when those thieve recieve thier order .. they also get arrested at the same time..
.. i got reimbursed, but that'll be kool if i got all the equipment bought too.. lol
                              -:Ĥ:-
