No....the term "header" actually referes to the collector, not the pipes. the true definition of a header is something that links a collection of pipes to direct the flow of fluid. its an engineering term, not just an automotive term

No, just because You and 5 others in here choose to use the wrong term don't make YOU right.
Funny how the topic was changed over one fucking letter. GET A FUCKING LIFE MAN.
EX's don't have manifold. they have real header(s) which is what helps give them the extra HP over the LX.

I also walked into a parts store, asked for a bung plug to fit an o2 sensor bung... and the guy lit up, said "I know what you need" and handed me a socket to remove an o2 sensor... I had the sensor in my hand.
1 head, 1 header. 2 heads, 2 headers. Calling a singular header "headers" is as bad as referring to something as "mines", or calling your only friend "you guys".
If I hand you a single bent pipe, is that a header? I mean, after all, half of a pair of pants is a pant, right? No, the unit itself is a header. Flange, piping, collector, flange. It is commonly referred to in the plural because many of the import tuners today grew up learning from the oldschool V8 crowd... and in that crowd, you always got "headers". It is not a correct term, and MOST people who have been around the I4 crowd for any amount of time would correct the misuse.

Maybe in the Honda world, but you aren't going to justify your way out of this one.
Here is a link:
www.dcsports.com
Go to this webpage and do a search for
1995
Honda
Prelude VTEC
L4 2.2L
The hit "view products"
This will bring up a list of all available products for this car.
Notice there is a section 4-2-1 Headers
Ahhhh...
But that is because it is plural.
You will notice that there are 2 models available.
One 4-2-1 Ceramic HEADER Part #: HHC-5009
One 4-2-1 Ceramic HEADER Part #: HHC-5029
DC Sports does NOT market their replacement exhaust manifold as "HEADERS" unless they are talking about more than one.
The reason is simple. A head, per Webster's definition:
Head (n) - To aim or point in a different direction.
By definition, a Header, takes the exhaust gasses from one bank of cylinders, and changes their direction so that we can join them to the rest of the exhaust system.
Since all cylinders in a bank need to be pointed in the same general direction, and these headers are typically one peice, it was determined that the singular form would be header.
Maybe Mike can get a snapshot of the webpage up here. He is far more computer literate than me.
