    Honda-tech hating?

Why does everyone hate on Honda-Tech so much? I know there is alot of misinformation being thrown around, but what site doesnt . If you ask me, all the amazing honda builds are coming from HT and if you want information you just need look a little deeper, thats all.

They banned me for no reason...

And for every worthwhile post, there are 99 posts worth of 'stfu noob, SEARCH', 'your car sucks', and of course, 'when in doubt...PHDTS'

Its a fun site. USed to post on there all the time. I kinda like it. Not like I used to though. Lots of n00bs. Basically if you feel like browsing HT some helpful hints are:
            1. Search
            2. Use proper grammar
            3. Dont be a retard when asking question
            4. Anything with a wing is rice 99% of the time
            5. Dont argue with mods
            6. And as i mentioned search.

There is info on that site. Stickies and crap are really helpful and cover a lot of the questions. There are some old/knowledgable members on there. It gets tiring reposting same questions over and over again for them and I got tired of doing that on that site (same goes for cb7 sometimes). I am pretty sure some peopel can agree on me on this site. Plus HT is a really big site compared to ours. Most of the time now I post rarely. I just browse the marketplace and check out the galleries. Thats bout it. Also check the meets. Also HT is full of thieves so watch yo backs if you decide to post pictures on there =O.

Hondatech and Accordinglydone had the same problem.

The hating and flaming was accepted, and like all things that are condoned, they progress and get worse. Humans always push the boundaries.

People assume that just because you don't have eleventy million posts, you MUST know nothing about cars.

              So then they flame.

They don't know the answer, but they know you asked a question or made a statement that they don't understand, so they flame. And then flame some more.

It is partly a mechanism to keep them from feeling stupid. They are in MOST flaming cases, after all, a 16 year old pimply faced dweeb.

A good example is the guy from Pocketrockets racing with his H27 hatch.

He has the dyno pull right there for everyone to see, and he claimed that it was a Mustang dyno pull, and was thus probably a little low.

They then proceeded to flame him saying that he didn't know until he put it on a dynojet, because 1 time they heard of 1 person getting higher results on a Mustang.

If the Mustang reads low 90% of the time (which it does) then you can reasonably conclude that it is probably low.

He guesstimated based on ~30 years of experience what he thought it might do on a dynojet. He said it clearly. He never claimed it as fact. He had other supporting evidence that suggested he was very close.

On AD, (or ADD ), I saw a kid ask a question about the H23 manifold swap onto an F22B1.

It was a legitimate question, that nobody had asked or answered yet.

He was flamed for 3-4 pages by people who didn't understand the question, didn't know the answer, and misunderstood him (it became clear later).

Someone from that board tried to come on HERE and flame ME about it, when I told the kid he could do it, but with a really big *.

They are just a bunch of punk ass 16 or 17 year old know-it-alls in most cases.

I have NEVER seen someone who actually could prove they accomplished something flame anybody on Honda Tech. It is usually the nutsack monkeys.

i dont think you guys are giving it a fair chance, things seem pretty tame in the welding/autocross/forced induction parts

eh ive heard the horror stories, I had a membership a good couple years ago but never posted.

Theres something about a forum where if you join or prior to joining you can get a feel for what the place is like just by reading the threads started and the posts that follow it afterwards.

I rejoined early last year but I never post for that samae reason.

Honda Tech is only good for one reason. It has a good amount of Tech information on there.

I never found any useful information there. I do go to Accordingly done, but not much. Mostly here and MyCB7.com. and of course Streetsmartsusa.org

Besides. IMO any board without an OFF TOPIC is not worth going to.

Exactly right. TypeG you hit the nail on the head here... On Honda-Tech you dont get much useful help. Everyone assumes that you are a complete idiot and dont search and if your car looks basically stock on the outside (like mine) they assume that you dont know what you are talking about or just some kid trying to sound smart. I used to be on there all the time. I just use it now everyonce in a while on the VERY RARE occasion that I cant find my answer here. 99.9% of the time all it takes here is to search and you will find your answer or you can make a post and not get flamed all to hell. Honda-Tech also has a lot of usefull information but there is just so much that they cover being all Honda/Acura that it is much harder to find what you are looking for and if you do make a post about an area that is like a foreign language to you like you will 99% of the time get flamed. Later
