I know a lot of kids that are fucking smart, just make retarded ass decisions because they have anger management issues and hang with the wrong croud.
public schools are so fucked up.
Public schools may be fucked up but they teach you how to deal with certain people and how to go about shit a certain way. Which group to stay in, which crowd do you wanna be in(non-gang)related as how far do you want to succeed. What ideas and goals will you take upon the path of what you wanna be in the future to strive and at the same time to avoid the bullshit and the many triptraps.

right, send all the kids who cause trouble to jail
they all have problems, and they are all kids. that means they can be dealt with, or at least tried to be dealt with.
some kids just need someone to look up to and to keep them out of trouble. that's where mentor programs come in. Anything helps, I know because I used to be just like that. I wore all blue, was in a gang and caused havoc in school all the time.
My mom got me into some program in middle school and i finally straightened up. I got to know people that liked cars and that got me interested in cars and since then I've been trouble free(for the most part )
it's a different story if we were dealing with adults. Little kids can be changed if someone tries hard enough. I know a lot of them wont be changed, but just a few are better than none. Abandoning them and labeling them as criminals at such an early age will only fuck up their views of the world and make everything worse later on in their lifes, and in ours. because, once their out of jail or juvi, you better watch out.

[rant]Thats really fucked up... I know where this kid is coming from. I went to and graduated from an Alternative High School, because of ADHD and the smaller class sizes helping... Same boat as this kid. It was a pain in the ass when certain clothing was not allowed. I never once changed what I wore and never once had any trouble with the administration... The teachers and principals at the AEP (Alternative Education Program) school that I attended knew who the gangsters/wanna be gangsters were. You could tell... If you saw a group, no matter their skin color, in all red or all blue huddled together, then you knew they were up to no good... And by in all red or all blue I mean everything was red or blue... The only kids that I saw get in trouble for wearing gang colors were kids that went to the extreme of wearing red or blue shoes/socks, pants, shirts/sweatshirts/jackets and hats and bandannas all the same matching color. You dont see to many non gang related people like that around here. If this kid (in the article) was wearing brown shoes/socks, and brown pants then I can understand where the school is coming from but if he had blue jeans on then give me a break. [/end rant] Later

As far as the gang color issue, it's really a double edged sword. I agree that making a child change his/her attire because you heard that it's associated with a gang is kinda ridiculous. I mean, if a "gang" represents itself by a specific color, it's stupid to BAN the color alltogether. If that color is worn in a particular fashion or orientation (ie brown doo-rag and brown bandana in the left rear pocket and folded in a specific way) then you address the ORIENTATION of the color. Not the color itself.
On the flipside, if Joe Slacker gets his wig pushed back, AT SCHOOL, for rockin a certain color, then the parent may have a case if it's found that the school officials were aware of acts of violence that were precipitated as a result of Mr. Slacker wearing said-color, and did nothing to prevent this type of activity (run-on)
but lets face it, so called gang bangers dont go to school anyway, and they DAMN SURE aint gonna set it on some kid AT SCHOOL. Too many witnesses. They'd much rather catch you on the street and introduce you to the business end of a .40 cal.
I'm sure that these faculty have waaay more important things to worry about than so called gang colors. I mean, you can't deny anyone an education, but you can make life hard for an individual who persistently interferes with other students' ability to get their learn on. In that case you get rid of the PROBLEM INDIVIDUAL(S), not paint the problem with the proverbial "broad brush"

THat is just ridiculous. Kids are kids for a reason...they should be allowed to wear different color of clothing. I hope people stop and take a look at what america is doing to their future! Yeah there is crime but for crying out loud!"You are part of a great thing. Live for it, Talk for it and dream for it."

ive noticed a lot of mafia members where suits. same with everyone in government. and some teachers in my school. coincidence?
back to the topic. that is a completely pointless decision to ban that colour. at my school, they could really care less what we wear. i wear blue and black clothes and they dont care. like everyone else said those UPS workers better get fast quick.Originally posted by deevergote. And please, for the love of God, type like a human being!
