so i just blew my clutch...

yeah it finally happened...after around 9k of hard abuse and improper break-in of my xtd it finnaly started slipping.me and my buddies were messing aroiund doing burnouts and finnaly after i dropped it from 5500ish engine reved but tires didnt break loose at all the car just moved.dropped it sencond same thing. i almost got poisond from the stink that cam into the car.let it cool down for half an hour and it starts out fine but slipps in first gear between 6200-7k.i'm not really pissed at all, it will be a fun weekend for me and my dad.picked up a clutch from advance auto and dropped of my flywheel at napa.I think i'm gonna write a how-to on replacing the clutch.

Why are you riding a slipping clutch at 6-7k anyways? How long had you been trying to fry the clutch?

come on hondafan, you know me better than that!i needed something QUICK.the job is getting done this weekend.I couldnt wait for anything to ship out.with my new motor being built i'm thinking i'm gonna use this clutch for 6 months tops.once the motor drops in i'm getting a six puck to handle the extar horse power...

also i got my oem flywheel resurfaced so 110+35=145 plus 20? on misc shit and fluids 165 for a quick fix i aint complaining.

I don"t baby my car at all.i know the concequences and I expect them.I got the tools and knowledge to fix most of them to, i never complain when i mess somthing up because i know it's my fault.

i've never removed a manual tranny before (well i did with the engine together), but i've done a shit load of fwd automatics in around 2-3 hours.this one should be way easier.

when i did mine it took like 5-6 just to get the tranny out. Mind you it was in the street and it was in the dark. But take ur time and make sure you don't bend the input shaft. Good Luck

good man i like driving mine hard too... its more fun that way. anything that can possibly break is fixable, usually pretty easily, if you dont mind putting the time in. sounds like you had a fun time destroying that clutch though, at least it didnt leave you stranded somewhere. 5spd trannies are cake to drop, and clutches are simple to swap out.
