    95 lx, 57k, mint...we want it!

ok. i spent all afternoon on thursday ripping the front end off my girls 95 passat to replace the radiator (headlights, rad crossmember, bumper, condenser, etc) and upon finding out that the head gasket might be fucked we took a look at a 95 accord 5spd lx sedan with 57k at a local dealer.

the dealer said we can work out a 4-5k price but with no large amount of cash on hand we went to a local bank to file for a personal loan.
my girl has outstanding credit but im unsure that she can obtain the loan because we dont own property as colateral.

a car loan is out of the question because its hard to get a loan for a vehicle older than 2000.

we cant loan off our pensions at work till feb so what can we do till then to get something without commiting to a newer more expensive honda?

any online loan places that might be of help?

sucky... you have to live/work/worship in orange county to deal with my credit union

anyhoo a personal loan might work even without collateral, i took a personal loan for 4500, no collateral, to be used for a car. i had a good credit score, but no credit history, which is bad... but they still approved it.

you could always try it, getting denied doesnt hurt anything

By itself, you're right, but multiple denied applications for credit can negatively affect your credit score

the denials dont show up on the score, the fact that you had institutions pull the report that many times hurts it.

people are allowed 1 free credit report a year, going directly through experian, transunion, or equifax... if you have a business (bank) pull it for you, it shows up as "seeking credit" in a way, and can bring a score down up to 20pts per report pulled!

so if you leave it be for periods at a time and only have it pulled once or twice when trying to go for a new car or something, it wont hurt it...
