      stock 360 ftw?
computers are there for a reason.

      but iduno about the modchip.
the hardest part is the installation.
uh... if by overboosted you mean "right the fuck on" then, sure, it is.

installation is no biggie, ive modded dozens of playstations and xboxes. i was considering picking up this chip (and installing it) for my brother, so he could secretly expand his game collection when hes at school

just do the firmware hack, just rip your 360 apart and hook it up to your pc mobo and bam. and you can always replace it with the factory firmware the same way.

although i have tried taking my 360 apart and quit because i felt like i was going to break something.

What would a chip like this add to the xbox? Allow other region games to work?

from what ive learned, the current modchips and firmware hacks only make it so the dvd drive can run burned discs... the hack is just a flashed firmware, but thats detected while connected to xbox live, and microsoft will immediately blacklist your xbox from ever connecting again (at least thats what they did for the first xbox) with the chip, you can switch back and forth between the "hacked" firmware chip or the original one. as of yet, theres no way to get the xbox to run homebrew code, so no alternate dashboards/boot screens...

i dont think theres a way to play ripped games off of the internal hdd yet, either, but thats not a big deal... blank dvd-rs are cheap enough
