notice there is no taskbar / start menu whatsoever.

my friend wrote an app that completely replaces the start menu and taskbar, and is only a hidden 4 character text box up in the top left corner of the screen. (i typed stuff into it for the pic) if the taskbar pisses you off as much as it does me, get in contact with me... ill hook u up with the app.

thats a cool app mike. When you say its a 4 character text box at the top..do you use it like a command prompt or something like unix style? or what to you type in it?

anyway here is my desktop. i scaled it down a little bit. im sure no one wants to see a 1440x900 pixle image of my car lol. widescreen is teh winz!

eric, i see youre also a fan of no icons

about the app, when it loads it hides and disables the taskbar... you hit alt+z anytime and it sends focus up to the text box, and you can type commands to open apps, run dos commands, open explorer windows to specific folders, go to web URLs... its pretty darn cool. example: ?o np opens notepad... and most of the commands are customizible, like you can change it to ?o n if you want... hehehehe

anyway im glad that app works like i thought i want to try it out! what is it written in?

I got some of my skins from http://www.wincustomize.com and you could find the task bar there.

his ip addy is ok, he's behind a router. 192.168.xxx.xxx.
looks like the longhorn sidebar or some type of sidebar midnight has. my desktop is plain, cant show it coz im at work rite now.

i always thought i was the only one without desktop icons... sothea doesnt have them either...

anyway the app was written in VB. ill post up the XP version (am i the only one who refuses to use XP? 2000 for life) when i get home.

its called FTM taskbar -- "fuck the mouse" switching between minimized apps relies on ALT-Tab... no taskbar button clicking here
