CPMRTOTD - the cp[mike] random thread of the day! (#11 - ferris wheels)

over the weekend i went to Hershey Park in Hershey, PA with my family. i went on the ferris wheel with my brother (apparently the rest of my family was too scared?). hes just like me, and we were sitting there on line talking about how many millions of light bulbs must be all over the park. from the thousands along the roller coasters to the thousands all over the flashing signs, its hard to fathom... then we looked up and started to make guesses about how many bulbs must be all over the ferris wheel.

it got to the point where we actually counted.

there are 5120 (ħ10) light bulbs on the Hershey Park ferris wheel.

and thats just one small ride...

yeah, thats what i get for copying and pasting thread titles without paying attention. fixed to #11.

the wait on line was maybe 10 minutes. of course we didnt count every single one, we counted 296 before multiplying.

it was rocking a little bit at first, but to be honest its pretty scary up there with nothing holding you in, its just an open gondola with non-locking doors. looking over the edge, the thing tips and makes you feel like youre going to fall out. but i was actually too busy double checking my math on my phones calculator for most of the ride...

lightning racer was awesome... wildcat was good, but not as good as LR... great bear was second best to LR. i didnt do the mouse trap ride because i think those are stupid, its like a mine cart that zigzags back and forth, thats it

that mouse ride scared the crap outa me, its nothing but those turns it takes way up high are freaky. i havent been in a while so i dont know any of the new rides. is great bear the one by the gondola (sp?) that lets ur legs hang?

i know what you mean, ive been on them before.... youre going full speed toward what seems like the end of the track, then it hairpin turns back the other direction, makes you feel like youre going to fall right off!! and yeah thats the great bear... pretty fun ride. i just hate when they ruin the big drop by turning while going down, kills the excitement.
